He is credited as one of the pioneers in integrating the steel pan with conventional instruments. P.J.'s original musical compositions fuse rhythms of the Caribbean with other musical genres including jazz, classical, rhythm and blues, hip hop, popular, and gospel music.
P.J. Adamson, composer, arranger, steel panist, and percussionist, has performed extensively throughout the United States, Israel, Italy, Thailand, Canada, and the Caribbean.

P.J. was a member of the cast and orchestra of ART's and AMTF's production of "STEEL" by Derek Walcott and Galt MacDermot. P.J. also lectures on the history of the steel pan and its impact on Caribbean and American culture, and teaches pan approach, style, and methods.
